(Words and Music by Daniel L. Rideout, Sr.)

To Thee, Dear Alma Mater,
We raise our grateful song ,
For through thy noble teachings
Thou hast made thy children strong;
And thousands still shall praise thee.
All earth shall hear their swell ,
And bind our hearts yet closer
To thee we love so well.

We love thy spacious campus.
We love thy tow'ring halls
And hallov/'d are the lessons
We've learn 'd within thy walls.
Stand thou forever glorious ,
FuU-rob'd in living green;
Shine thou in endless splendor
Beneath thy trees serene .

Refrain

Maryland , Maryland , home of Maroon and

Gray,

Maryland , Maryland , thee we will love

alway.

All hail to thee, fair Maryland,

All Glory be to thee !

Grow thou in strength and honor

Through all eternity !

To an illustrious person whose devotion and enthusiasm is that of a friend , a
teacher, a coach, a companion, and a Christian. "Skip" McCain is worthy of
emulation , by every student boy or girl - man or woman .

We dedicate this book to him because of his 28 years of work here as winning
coach, a teacher of mathematics and one who realizes in his innermost hean
that each individual is here in this world for a purpose. Through his involve-
ment in the classrooms and the community he works to help each individual
use his highest abilities and endeavors toward making this world a happier and
better place in which to live .

Mr. McCain lives the philosophy of brotherhood and cultivates in others the
capacity to see and enjoy the finest in life.

We further dedicate this book to "Skip," because he tries to unlock each
small hean with keys of kindness, with loving care, with patient guidance,
with faith and understanding, with sympathy and love, and as an educator
with unselfish courage and loyalty to an idea .

Receiving dedicated services award .

The greatest man is he who chooses the right with
invincible resolution, who resists the sorest tempta-
tions from within and without, who bears the heavi-
est burdens cheerfully, who is calmest in storms and
most fearless under menace and frowns, whose reli-
ance on truth, on virtue, on God, is most unfalter-
ing.

So it is with Dr, William P. Hytche, the man asked to lead
the University through a most uncertain but, promising year.

A college education is a taste for knowledge, a taste
for philosophy, a capacity to explore, question and per-

experience . . . it is a search for truth.

"Harlem HeyDay" is a two hour musical revue
and comedy act that goes back to the exciting
vaudeville theatre days of the 1920's, the era that
saw over 12 million dollars flowing yearly in and
out of Harlem through scores of night spots .

The story is re-lived through the memories of an
old-time star. It is sound of Fats Waller, W. C.
Handy , Noble Sissle , Chris Jones , Duke Ellington ,
and others . Through the memories of the old-time
star you will see exciting scenes of a time that is
gone , but not forgotten .
